Program Profile:
The Mechanical Technician program requires a 2-year training period, both theoretical and practical. Common core courses in the 1st and 2nd semesters of this process; In addition to courses such as Turkish Language, Atatürk's Principles and Revolution History, foreign language, mathematics, department courses are given under the name of Measurement Technique, Physics, Material Technology, Technical Drawing, Basic Manufacturing Operations, Strength and Machine Elements. In the 3rd and 4th semesters, CNC courses that help to specialize in the profession, Computerized Drawing courses and other courses related to production are given.

About the organization:
The program was established in Iğdır Vocational School in 2005 and the Machinery Program, which took students in the 2005-2006 academic year, started education with 12 students. As of the 2010-2011 academic year, it follows the curriculum in accordance with the "Project for the Development of Human Resources through Vocational Education (İKMEP)". As of 2021-2022 academic year, he continues his education at Iğdır Technical Sciences Vocational School.

Students who complete this 2 (two) year program have an "Associate Degree" diploma in the field of Machinery. Graduates earn the title of "Machine Technician".

Admission and Registration Conditions:
Admission and registration conditions are subject to the Education-Training Directive accepted by the Iğdır University Senate. Candidates must have a high school or equivalent school diploma and have received sufficient points from the university student selection exam.
Qualification Requirements and Rules:
As stated in the associate degree and undergraduate regulations of Iğdır University, the average of the courses taken from the courses other than the Higher Education Council (YÖK) courses must be at least 2.0 (two). For graduation, 30 working days of internship is required, along with success in the courses given in the program.
